THE ELECTRIC COMPANY

When THE ME NOBODY KNOWS closed on Broadway, Children's Television Workshop (CTW) hired half of the musical's cast to star in their new show, The Electric Company. Irene Cara, Hattie Winston, Melanie Henderson and Douglas Grant were hired for The Electric Company. (Northern Calloway was hired for Sesame Street).

The Electric Company became a great success. After its first 2 years on the air, CTW hired Gary William Friedman to be the Music Director and Composer for The Electric Company.

Gary wrote over 60 songs for The Electric Company, including the popular "Spiderman Theme" - for which he wrote the words and music and was the vocalist. A CD single of the Spider Man Theme Song is available at Amazon.com and iTunes.
